Description

Telescope, books and instruments are stacked on the floor as sign of a study. Stars applied around the dial. The clock is surmounted by a winged genius with celestial globe. The overall composition shows the relationship of time measure and astronomy. The dial and clock movement are flanked by an astro lab and a telescope and form the base for astronomy which is personified by a winged genius which is seated with a in hand in front of a celestial globe. Empire, circa 1810, fire gilded bronze.
